Grapat creates beautiful wooden toys for children to have free and open-ended play and explore the world through imagination. The Spanish company began with the goal of making limitless toys inspired by nature, as they observed how easily and willingly children played with whatever was around them. They believe the need to play and imagine is an unstoppable force in children, and should be nurtured and encouraged, as many benefits come from imaginative play. All Grapat products are made with sustainable wood, with safe, non-toxic water-based dyes, and finished with safe vegetable oils and waxes. The dyes colour deep into the wood, ensuring lasting colour that will never chip or crack, and allows the natural texture of the wood to shine through, unlike paint. The natural texture is engaging and stimulating for children’s minds and senses. Any collaborations are with local artists for packaging, and they are frequently inspired by the stunning natural landscape around them. From 2019, Grapat has removed all plastic from their product packaging.
